From looking in the Ct Magazin, issue 9, p.92 it looks that the PIV 1.7 GHz is slower than the Athlon 1.3 GHz for integer computations, or compiling a Linux kernel. So well, will stick to Intel outside for now, except for FPU intensive operations which I have currently absolutely no need for :)
Additionnally, the motherboards for the Athlon have a wide (AMD) compatibility, where it *looks* like the Intel PIV needs, once again, a new motherboard. Sorry, I don't like this `ready to trash' concept.

Es gibt IMO keine wertloseren stories, sorry. Wenn es irgend welche interessante details oder _echte_ innovationen gab, bitte, aber diese storry ist IRRELEVANT.
